The Yellow House by the Sea, in Tor Bay, is situated on the shore of the Bay, in the midst of a small but vibrant fishing village with a year round population of about 55 people. The nearest shopping is 30 minutes away in Guysborough. You can take a scenic drive around the Bay and enjoy quaint little villages, and stunning vistas! This place is quiet and away from it all.

Our thoughtfully maintained cottage is bright, airy, and designed with comfort in mind. Inside, you’ll find 4 cozy bedrooms with comfortable beds, soft linens, and plenty of natural light. A welcoming living room with comfortable seating, a Smart TV, and a collection of board games and books for quiet nights in. Beside the living room you’ll find A fully equipped kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook and enjoy meals, including cookware, dishware, and small appliances
• A clean and private bathroom with fresh towels, a hair dryer, and complimentary toiletries
• Washer and dryer available for guest use who are with us for longer stays

The cottage is at the end of a nearly uninhabited street. Once you reach the end of the road you will discover a quiet three acre peninsula with nearly 1300 feet of ocean frontage. You will have this parcel of land all to yourself.
The property has two rocky beaches! One is a secluded cove. Other side is open ocean.

The Tor Bay Provincial Park and beach is 20 minutes away, Historic Sherbrook village is 35 minutes away when the ferry is running (55 minutes when driving) ,The nearby St Marys River attracts many sport fishing enthusiasts for the Atlantic salmon run, Salsman Picnic Park is 20 minutes away as well as a large number of hiking and 4X4 Trails. The Cape Breton Highland National Park is a three hour drive away. Whether you're looking for a relaxing beach vacation or an action-packed adventure, our oceanfront rental has it all. Upon entering there is a foyer for you to take of your coats and boots. Please remove all footwear in the foyer. Step into the home and you will see a cozy sitting room and spectacular galley kitchen. Italian marble counter tops, two black granite sinks, five burner propane cook top, live edge shelving and custom subway tile make this kitchen a chefs dream! The sitting room features a small couches, bistro table set and a relaxed environment to start your stay off. Walk down the hall past the custom painted mural and to your right is the living room with new propane fireplace. This room features a comfy couch and recliner so you can kick back and relax. There are 16 new windows in the home and you can see the ocean from every single one!
The bathroom is attached to the living room. It has new high quality vinyl flooring, new vanity and new shower! Double back the way you came and you'll see a stairwell that leads up to the second level. There are three finished bedrooms upstairs. They are all fitted with new queen sized beds and new bedding. The fourth bedroom will be locked as its currently unfinished and is being used for storage.
The outdoor space this property provides is amazing! The land around you is remote and seemingly untouched. You will feel recharged and rested after spending some time at this natural wonder. If you have kids (or are still one at heart) there are new and interesting things to find around the shoreline on a daily basis. I will have my canoe on site available in the summer months for use on the harbor side. There are multiple great spots to have a fire on the property. If you are looking to have a midsized fire the fire pit at the point is your best option. If you want to have a larger fire, I ask that its done on the rocks below.
On a clear night, you will be able to achieve some UNBELIEVABLE star gazing!! The sunrises and sunsets at this location are also EXCEPTIONAL.
